About the estate
The Pálffy Szőlőbirtok és Pince estate relies on decades of family traditions in Köveskál within the Balaton-felvidék wine region. The vineyards cover sixteen hectares across the Kishegy, Cserekút, Kisgyepű, and Csákvölgy sites on the southern slopes of Fekete-hegy. Cultivated grape varieties include Olaszrizling, Szürkebarát, Tramini, Furmint, Juhfark, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Syrah. The winery focuses on strict yield control through manual selection and a biological approach without the use of insecticides or harsh chemicals. The volcanic soils containing basalt, lava, and tuff rocks shape the characteristic style of the wines, which feature high acidity and mineral content.
