About the estate
The Mas de l’Abundància estate is located in the Priorat region of Spain and belongs to the Montsant DO. The history of the property dates back to the 18th century when the land belonged to the Prior of Scala Dei, before Jesus del Rio Mateu introduced the estate to the world in 2002. The vineyards, featuring soils of llicorella, clay, and granite sand, are farmed using sustainable practices and have held organic certification since 2019. The vineyard holdings include classic regional varieties such as Garnatxa, Carinyena, and Garnatxa Blanca, alongside Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The wines are crafted in a totally artisanal way, and the winery utilizes French oak barrels for aging.
