About the estate

Founded in 1957 by a handful of winegrowers, the Les Chais du Vivarais estate brings together the winemakers of Bidon, Gras, Larnas, and Saint-Remèze. The vineyards are situated on a vast karst plateau with clay-limestone soils, located between the Gorges de l’Ardèche and the Rhône Valley under a northern Mediterranean climate. The cooperative operates within the Côtes du Vivarais protected designation of origin and produces the emblematic Cuvée Grotte Chauvet. Furthermore, the winery is a member of the Vignerons Ardéchois group.
