About the estate
The Laposa Birtok estate cultivates thirty hectares of vineyards on the volcanic hills of Badacsony in the Balaton Uplands region of Hungary. The history of the winery began in 1978 when the founders received a small wine-press house as a wedding present, and the business is now managed by the second generation of the family. The estate primarily grows traditional grape varieties such as Welschriesling, Rhine Riesling, Pinot Gris, Kéknyelű and Furmint on the best sites of the surrounding witness hills. The portfolio ranges from fresh, reductive wines to barrel-aged vineyard selections and mineral-driven premium wines. The winery produces approximately 600,000 bottles annually utilizing modern processing facilities located at the Hableány estate headquarters.
