Kellerei Kaltern

About the estate

Founded in 1900, Kellerei Kaltern is a historic wine cooperative in South Tyrol that unites numerous members and cultivates 420 hectares of vineyards. The alpine and mediterranean climate around Lake Kaltern, combined with diverse soils composed of porphyry and limestone, shapes the distinctive wine-growing region. The vineyards range from warm hillside plots at 250 meters to cooler high-altitude sites at nearly 700 meters above sea level. This allows both red varieties such as Vernatsch and Lagrein and white varieties like Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon to thrive. The portfolio includes wines produced under the Alto Adige DOC, Kalterersee Classico Superiore DOC, and South Tyrol Sparkling Wine denominations.
