About the estate
The Kamauf estate cultivates a vineyard area of 12 hectares and holds a share in the best single-vineyard sites of Straß im Straßertale in the lower Kamptal region. The origins of the family-run business date back to 1860, with the property having been continuously expanded over generations. Today, the estate is managed by Reinhard Kamauf, who graduated from the Federal College for Viticulture and Pomology in Klosterneuburg. The soils of the vineyards include loess-loam, sandy and lime-free clay, as well as gravel soils and thick loess deposits, where grape varieties such as Grüner Veltliner thrive. The winemaker continues to receive active support from his parents, Maria and Anton Kamauf.
The eno directory lists 15 wines, mostly from Grüner Veltliner and Zweigelt. Export markets include Germany.
