About the estate

The Tuscan winery Il Campino in Monsanto within the Chianti Classico region looks back on a family history dating back to 1814, with Primo Benelli reshaping the estate in 1969. Cultivating a vineyard area of approximately 0.5 hectares on a sun-exposed slope, the estate grows Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Malvasia nera, and Colorino grapes. Vineyard management relies on hand-pruning using the spur-cordon system by Antonio Benelli, who tends to each individual vine. Following a meticulous hand-harvest and careful bunch selection, the Chianti Classico DOCG matures in oak barrels. The annual production is strictly limited to around 2000 hand-signed bottles.

The eno directory lists 2 wines, mostly from Sangiovese and Canaiolo.
