About the estate

The Hopfer family winery has been cultivating five hectares of vineyards in Tieschen in the Vulkanland Steiermark region since 2006. Farming relies heavily on manual labor on predominantly volcanic and limestone soils located on the Feuerberg, Aunberg, and Patzenberg sites. The portfolio includes grape varieties such as Sämling, Pinot Blanc, Welschriesling, Morillon, Rivanter, Gewürztraminer, Red Muscat, and Blauer Zweigelt. The wines are marketed under the designations Steirischer Landwein and Vulkanland Steiermark DAC. The production ranges from fruity, light classics to barrel-aged specialties.
