About the estate
The Thaler estate, located in Bad Waltersdorf within the Vulkanland Steiermark DAC region, is operated by the Thaler family with winemaker Kevin Thaler overseeing the vinification. The estate spans seven hectares of vineyards situated across various sites. Thriving on sandy, clayey, and volcanic soils are grape varieties such as Sauvignon blanc, Gelber Muskateller, Weissburgunder, Welschriesling, Morillon, and Blauer Zweigelt. Vineyard management relies on predominantly manual labor without the use of glyphosate, combined with modern cellar technology during vinification. The portfolio features wines bearing the Steirischer Landwein and Vulkanland Steiermark DAC denominations.
The eno directory lists 19 wines, mostly from Welschriesling and Gelber Muskateller.
