About the estate

The Hungarian winery Gróf Buttler Borászati Zrt was founded in 1999 in Eger and came under new ownership in 2009. The estate cultivates 36 hectares of vineyards, producing wines under the Eger, Egri Bikavér Superior, and Egri Bikavér Grand Superior denominations. Winemaking follows a traditional philosophy focused on minimal intervention, beginning with hand harvesting in small crates. After destemming and gentle crushing, red grapes undergo temperature-controlled skin contact fermentation before aging in oak barrels. White wines are crafted using both reductive techniques and barrel fermentation to preserve their distinctive regional flavor profile.

The eno directory lists 18 wines, mostly from Merlot and Syrah. The estate sells to retail.
