Franck Avela

About the estate

The Franck Avela estate was founded in 2002 in Quarante, southern France, and manages four hectares of vineyards. The vineyards are situated on the heights of Creissan and Quarante near the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park on clay-limestone soils. The grape varieties include traditional regional grapes such as Carignan, Cinsault, Syrah, and Grenache, with the oldest vines planted in 1911. Viticulture follows organic and traditional methods featuring severe pruning, manual harvest in small crates, and natural soil management without chemical herbicides. Inside the historic cellar dating from 1880, the grapes undergo manual sorting and destemming before being vinified in micro-cuvées and matured in French oak barrels.
