About the estate

The Domaine Noctua - Amaury et Marie Vaganay estate is located in Vaudelnay in the Loire Valley and is operated as an organic winery by Amaury and Marie Vaganay. After careers in other fields and time spent in the north, the couple settled in the Saumurois region to produce wines under the AOC Anjou and AOC Saumur denominations. They chose the area for the beauty of the Loire, its climate, complex soils, and a strong passion for the Chenin grape variety. The name of the estate derives from the Latin name for the little owl, a pair of which nests on the winery property and is featured in illustrations on the wine labels.
