Domaine Louis Chomel

About the estate

The Domaine Louis Chomel estate is situated in the Rhône Valley on the heights of Saint-Désirat in the northern Ardèche department. The history of the property dates back to the early twentieth century when Louis Chomel planted the initial vines. Today, the family manages a vineyard area of 22 hectares, primarily located on steep south-facing slopes overlooking the Rhône river. The vineyards grow on light, shallow soils composed of granite, migmatite, and sandy elements. The estate works the land with respect for nature and tradition, producing wines under the Saint-Joseph and Ardèche IGP appellations.
