About the estate
Founded in 1960 by Colette and Clotaire Pouillot, the family-run Domaine Lemain-Pouillot is currently managed by Francine Lemain and her son Maxime. The estate cultivates five hectares of vineyards situated on the slopes of Bué within the AOC Sancerre denomination. White grape varieties and Pinot Noir are planted on hard limestone and clay-limestone soils. Vineyard management follows sustainable reasoning, avoiding chemical herbicides and insecticides in favor of mechanical soil cultivation to stimulate microbial life. In the cellar, traditional methods are combined with modern equipment to vinify the wines under optimal conditions.
