About the estate

The Domaine Huguenot estate in Marsannay-la-Côte is managed by Valérie and Philippe Huguenot. The business cultivates 23 hectares of vineyards spread across the communes of Marsannay, Fixin, and Gevrey-Chambertin. The cuverie was modernized in 2020 with temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The winery is listed in the Vignerons Indépendants de France directory. The vineyard parcels are situated on hillsides at altitudes between 200 and 380 meters with southeastern exposure, rooted in clayey, stony soils containing limestone scree and red silt. Vinification relies on indigenous yeasts, a 7 to 10-day cold maceration for Pinot Noir, and maturation in 228-liter or 500-liter oak barrels lasting 10 to 18 months. Red wines undergo extraction via pigeage and remontage, followed by pressing in pneumatic presses. The portfolio includes the denominations AOC Bourgogne, AOC Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, AOC Côte de Nuits-Villages, AOC Fixin, AOC Gevrey-Chambertin, AOC Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru, and AOC Marsannay. The grape varieties comprise Pinot Noir for red wines and Chardonnay for white wines, which ferment in 500-liter oak barrels following pressing.
