About the estate
The Domaine Gérard Schmitt estate is located in the Alsatian village of Epfig and has been operating as a family business since 1870, currently managed by the seventh generation. The winery farms 25 hectares of vineyards split across approximately one hundred plots in several municipalities, including the Fronholtz, Grand Cru Wiebelsberg, and Schenkenberg sites. The portfolio features a wide range of wines, from Sylvaner and Gewurztraminer to Crémant d’Alsace, late harvest wines, and selection of noble berries. The estate follows strict environmental standards and holds a high level of environmental certification. In 2016, the next generation joined the family enterprise following formal viticulture and oenology studies.
