About the estate
The Domaine du Pré Semelé is managed in the fourth generation by the brothers Julien and Clément Raimbault, supported by a team of five employees. Located in Sury-en-Vaux near Sancerre, the family estate cultivates 22 hectares of vineyards on limestone and clay-limestone soils. Viticulture is conducted manually and organically since 2023, avoiding chemical products and promoting biodiversity through cover cropping and the preservation of old vines. A natural approach is similarly applied in the cellar, utilizing spontaneous vinification without commercial yeasts, minimal amounts of self-produced volcanic sulfur, and extended aging without filtration. Various vessels such as wooden vats, amphorae, and concrete eggs are used to adapt the maturation to each vintage.
