About the estate

The wine estate Domaine de Montaillant in Chasnay cultivates 6 hectares of vineyards in the Côtes de la Charité IGP appellation within the Nièvre department. Alexis Hudon established the estate in 2021 alongside Jérôme Loubert, following the foundation of his merchant activity in 2018. The vineyards comprise 3 hectares of Chardonnay and 3 hectares of Pinot Noir situated on argilo-calcaire soils at altitudes between 300 and 320 meters with a southwest exposure. Since 2024, the estate holds the organic agriculture certification. Vinification is conducted without additives except for minimal sulfur additions following the lunar calendar, utilizing concrete vats, fiberglass vats, and oak barrels depending on the cuvée. The portfolio includes 9 wines divided into the lines LES CUVÉES DOMAINE and LES CUVÉES NÉGOCE. The utilized grape varieties include Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Groslot gris, Gamay, Gamay teinturier, Grolleau, Grolleau Gris, and Menu Pineau. The styles encompass Vin de France, Élevage long, and Mousseux. The wines are distributed via direct sales.
