About the estate
The Domaine de la Soumade estate was founded in 1979 by André Roméro, who by 1990 had transitioned the entire production to bottled wine. In 1996, his son Frédéric joined the winery after completing his education in viticulture and oenology. Today, the estate spans 26 hectares in Rasteau and one hectare in Gigondas on clay and limestone soils. Since 2002, the estate has implemented refined vinification techniques to produce naturally powerful wines suited for ageing. A significant share of the production is exported to numerous international markets across the globe.
Export markets include United Kingdom, Belgium, Spain and Italy.
