About the estate

The historical and century-old Domaine de la Gauche spans over eight hectares of vineyards in the AOC Sauternes and AOC Bordeaux Supérieur appellations across the communes of Bommes and Sauternes. Featuring gravelly-sandy soils, the estate combines traditional methods with modern techniques and has been certified with the Haute Valeur Environnementale HVE label since 2019. The vineyards are primarily planted with Sémillon, Sauvignon blanc, Sauvignon gris, and Muscadelle to produce distinctive Sauternes and Bordeaux Supérieur wines. Grapes are selectively harvested in multiple passes to ensure optimal maturity for complex and long-aging wines. The Negrou family acquired the estate in 2012, continuing its winemaking tradition while introducing contemporary touches.
