About the estate
The family-owned estate Couly-Dutheil Clos de l'Echo, established in 1921, is currently led by Arnaud Couly, the great-grandson of founder Baptiste Dutheil. The winery manages a total vineyard area of 102 hectares, comprising 95 hectares in Chinon and seven hectares in Turquant dedicated to the AOC Saumur and AOC Saumur Champigny appellations. In 2005, a change in direction placed emphasis on vineyard management to obtain riper grapes and fruitier wines while maintaining freshness. Vinification practices involve gentle extractions, the avoidance of wood aging, and very light filtration.
