About the estate
The Clos des Cordeliers estate looks back on more than three centuries of viticulture, with its origins dating back to 1630 and early cultivation by Franciscan monks. Since its acquisition in 1932, the Ratron family has managed the property across four generations, overseeing 22 hectares of vineyards located in Souzay-Champigny in the Loire Valley. The vines thrive in the heart of the Saumur-Champigny appellation on soils featuring tuffeau and lacustrine limestone, which provide exceptional terroir characteristics. These unique parcels yield distinctive wines that primarily showcase the finesse of the Cabernet Franc grape variety.
