About the estate

The Chateau la Mercrediere estate manages 48 hectares of vineyards located in the municipality of Le Pallet within the Loire Valley, bordered by the Sèvre Nantaise river. The vineyards cover east-, southeast-, and south-facing slopes featuring shallow, silica-clay soils over a rocky subsoil dominated by orthogneiss and serpentinite. The estate exclusively cultivates Melon de Bourgogne, the sole grape variety used for the dry, fruity white wines produced under the AOC Muscadet Sèvre et Maine, AOC Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Le Pallet, and AOC Muscadet Sèvre et Maine sur Lie appellations. Vineyard management is conducted with respect for nature and tradition, utilizing reasoned protection methods and sparse organic fertilization.
