About the estate
The Chateau la Bastienne - Chateau Pierhem estate manages 16 hectares of vineyards on the right bank of the Dordogne northeast of Bordeaux. The vines grow on diverse soils including clay-marl, carbonated clays, gravel, and sand, and are dedicated entirely to the Merlot grape variety. Pierre-Emmanuel Janoueix relies on a sustainable and artisanal approach certified with the Haute Valeur Environnementale label. Harvesting is conducted manually, followed by hand sorting and vinification in temperature-controlled vats under the supervision of Julien Viaud from the Laboratoire Michel Rolland. Depending on the wine and vintage, maturation takes place in new barrels or vats.
The eno directory lists 4 wines, mostly from Merlot.
