About the estate
The Château de Chaintres is a historic 18-hectare estate located in the heart of the Saumur Champigny appellation, featuring a wall built in 1675. Since 1938, the de Tigny family has maintained the tradition, with Elisabeth de Tigny Mourot serving as General Director and combining tradition with modernity. The vineyards comprise varieties such as Chenin and Cabernet Franc, cultivated across various distinct plots and terroirs. Following a conversion period, the estate's wines have been certified organic by Ecocert France starting from the 2013 vintage. The portfolio includes wines under the AOC Crémant de Loire, AOC Saumur, and AOC Saumur Champigny denominations.
