About the estate

The Château d’Azur estate is located in Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer at the heart of the Bandol appellation and was founded in 1990 by Paul and Hélène Charavel. The seven hectares of vineyards with sea views are situated partly in the renowned localities of Cagueloup and Port d’Allon. The predominant variety, Mourvèdre, thrives on well-draining soils composed of calcareous sandstone, sandstone, and sandy marls under a Mediterranean climate. Current owner Roger Jaar and his team manage the vineyards sustainably through organic fertilization, soil cultivation, and the introduction of sheep in spring. Harvesting is done entirely by hand with low yields, followed by careful vinification following traditional methods.
