About the estate
The Château Bas d’Aumelas estate is located in Languedoc on the Causse d’Aumelas at an altitude of 300 meters and is currently managed by the brothers Jean-Philippe and Geoffroy D’Albenas. While the history of the property dates back over 1,000 years, the current vineyard was entirely replanted in 2002 following previous uprooting. Organic farming is practiced across a total of 22 hectares of vines within the AOC Languedoc and AOC Grés de Montpellier appellations. The clay and limestone soils, along with specific aging vessels, shape the character of the wines. Vinification is carried out using traditional concrete, stainless steel, and terracotta amphora containers.
