About the estate
The Château Barouillet estate is located in Pomport in the Dordogne within the Monbazillac appellation area and has remained in the same family for eight generations. The estate manages 45 hectares of vineyards distributed across three separate plots featuring clay-limestone soils. Farming practices have gradually transitioned to organic and biodynamic principles since 2010, incorporating the lunar calendar in both the vineyards and the winery. The diverse grape variety spectrum includes classic regional varieties such as Sémillon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec, alongside autochthonous and experimental varieties. From these, organic, biodynamic, and natural wines are produced under the Bergerac, Monbazillac, and Pécharmant appellations.
The eno directory lists 5 wines, mostly from Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir.
