About the estate

The Celler Cal Pla estate in Porrera within the Priorat DOQ denomination looks back on a family history dating back to the mid-17th century that is closely tied to winemaking. Following successive generations and historical events, Jaume Sangenís Juncosa and later his son Joan Sangenís took over the cultivation of the lands and the production of wine. Today, Joan Sangenís and Cristina Grau are in charge of the winemaking and distribution of the estate. They introduced bottled wines and established brands such as Mas d’En Compte, Planots, and Cal Pla. In 2017, they initiated the construction of a new winery at Mas d’En Compte alongside the restoration of the old farmhouse.
