About the estate
The Caves de la Salle estate was established in 1983 by Jocelyne and Rémi Desbourdes, and their son Baptiste joined the winery in 2009. The family-run business covers twelve hectares of vineyards located at the eastern edge of the Chinon appellation in Avon-les-Roches. The vines grow on sandy gravel soils as well as on clay-limestone slopes in the Vienne valley. The estate cultivates Cabernet Franc for red, rosé, and sparkling wines, alongside Chenin Blanc for white wines. In 2020, the vineyards began transitioning to organic farming, and the estate received the High Environmental Value certification.
