About the estate
The Castello Santanna estate is located on the hills around Spessa near Cividale del Friuli within the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC denomination. The history of the family-run winery began in 1966 when the grandfather acquired the historic castle and dedicated himself to viticulture. In 1985, father Angelo joined the business and advanced quality improvements through new plantings with a high vine density. Today, the winery cultivates a vineyard area of seven hectares. Winemaking combines the estate's historical tradition with modern technical equipment in the cellar.

destemmed and crushed the grapes undergo soft pressing. The first-press juice is cooled for 24 hours, racked to remove the lees; the must is then inoculated with selected yeasts and allowed to ferment at a controlled temperature.
