About the estate

The Castell'in Villa estate is situated in the hills of Chianti in Tuscany and looks back on a long history dating back to the Middle Ages in the year 1176. Spanning approximately three hundred hectares, the historic property surrounded by forests and vineyards was acquired in 1968 by Riccardo and Coralia Pignatelli della Leonessa. Following a careful conservative restoration, the estate today combines its medieval character with hospitality services and traditional agriculture. Along the paths and within the historic premises, the Sangiovese grape variety and the surrounding cultural landscapes shape the identity of the property. The estate also includes the historic Gazzara settlement and remains deeply rooted in the cultural landscape of Chianti.
