Canus

About the estate

The Canus estate is located in the Friuli Colli Orientali wine-growing region in Italy and is managed by the Casonato family. The winery cultivates vineyards in the Gramogliano and Prepotto areas, where the vines thrive on marl and clay ponca soils. The grape variety portfolio includes historical and indigenous varieties such as Ribolla Gialla, Friulano, Pignolo, Picolit, and Schioppettino, alongside Merlot, Chardonnay, and Riesling. All grapes are processed on-site, and the wines are aged in the estate cellar before release to the market. The work focuses on preserving local identity and protecting the surrounding ecosystems.
