About the estate

The Bodegas Luis Cañas estate looks back on a long family tradition and was founded in 1970 by Luis Cañas. The winery manages around 450 hectares of vineyards in the Rioja DOCa region, spread across more than one thousand small parcels with old vines. Farming is based on the principles of rational and environmentally friendly viticulture with a strict ban on herbicides. In 1989, Juan Luis Cañas took over the management of the estate and continuously expanded the portfolio to include wines with longer barrel aging alongside traditional young wines. State-of-the-art cellar technology and careful manual harvesting with a double grape selection characterize the estate's working methods.
