About the estate
The Bisson Vini Cantina degli Abissi estate was founded in 1978 by art teacher and sommelier Pierluigi Lugano in Chiavari, Liguria. The winery focuses on exalting native grape varieties of the Riviera Ligure di Levante, such as Bianchetta Genovese and Cimixià. The estate cultivates its own vineyards on the steep hills of Sestri Levante, featuring soils shaped by an ancient seabed. Through artisan methods and modern techniques, the winery produces independent wines that reflect the local terroir. The estate is particularly renowned for aging its sparkling wine underwater in the depths of the Ligurian Sea.
