About the estate

The Alois Kiefer estate (Aloisiushof) in St. Martin was founded in 1950 as a family business by Alois and Rita Kiefer and is managed across subsequent generations today. Starting with just three hectares of vineyards, the winery experienced continuous growth, and since the 1990s, an increasing selection of red wines has been added to the traditional white wines. Today, Riesling is the most important grape variety, followed by Pinot varieties as well as specialties such as Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Complementing traditional vinification, wines have also been aged in barrique barrels since 1988, and the portfolio has been restructured with modern styles omitting traditional predicates for dry wines.
