About the estate

The Abadía de Acón winery is located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero designation of origin in Castrillo de la Vega and looks back on a long family tradition. In 1953, the great-grandfather Norberto Carrasco built concrete vats in the historic cellar carved into clay, laying the foundation for today's estate. Today, the family business is managed by the descendants, with Jose Antonio Carrasco passing on the accumulated knowledge to his children and grandchildren. The estate cultivates 48 hectares of vineyards at an altitude of 800 meters, planted with 95 percent of the native Tempranillo variety and five percent Cabernet Sauvignon. Farming is carried out sustainably and without artificial irrigation to produce wines of high quality.
