About the estate

The urban winery Wijnfaktorij based in Antwerp manages vineyards in Maaseik, Houwaart, and Holsbeek. Established 15 years ago as an experimental project on a southern-facing slope, the estate later added sun-drenched vineyards in Hageland to its portfolio. Winemaker Patrick Nijs focuses on regenerative agriculture, completely avoiding herbicides and insecticides while utilizing no-till soil management. All grapes are harvested by hand and processed at the urban boutique winery using gravity and minimal intervention without fining or filtration. The production features natural wines such as Chansaar, Kontreir, and Ruby Sec.
