About the estate
The Werther-Windisch winery is located in Mommenheim in the Rheinhessen wine region and is run by Jens Windisch. He tends the family's old vineyards and was the first to convert the estate to organic farming. The estate's treasures include the single vineyards Harxheimer Schlossberg and Harxheimer Lieth as well as Gau-Bischofsheimer Herrnberg. The vines grow on limestone soils in some of the highest locations of the region. In the cellar, the winemaker relies on purist vinification in steel and wood without technical intervention.
