About the estate

The Melchiors winery and distillery is located in the wine village of Zell-Merl on the Middle Moselle and has been run as a family business for several generations, directed by Otto Melchiors since 2005. Cultivating five hectares of vineyards exclusively on steep slate sites, the estate grows grape varieties such as Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Rivaner, Kerner, Bacchus, Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, and Regent. Well-known vineyard sites include Merler Fettgarten, Merler Adler, Merler Königslay Terrassen, Merler Stephansberg, Zeller Nussberg, and Zeller Burglay Felsen. Additionally, fine spirits and fruit liqueurs are produced in the estate's own distillery during the winter months.
