About the estate
The Weingut Schwan estate is located in Niefernheim within the Zellertal region of the Palatinate and looks back on a long history as a family-run business. Formerly a mixed agricultural farm, the property evolved through Helmut Schwan and later through master winemaker Bernd Himmel into one of the region's first operations to specialize entirely in viticulture. Today, Dirk Himmel, a graduate engineer in viticulture and oenology, oversees the care of the vines and the vinification of the wines. The estate places great emphasis on sustainability and is certified under the FAIR’N GREEN system. In addition to wine production, the winery welcomes guests to its tasting room and the Himmelsteig wine educational trail.
