About the estate
The Gerhold estate in Gösing am Wagram looks back on a long history dating back to 1750 and is managed by two generations. The winery cultivates eleven to twelve hectares of vineyards in prime locations around the village, which are heavily characterized by deep loess soils. Alongside the main focus on Grüner Veltliner, the portfolio also features Roter Veltliner, Grüner Sylvaner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Zweigelt, and other red wine varieties. Vineyard management follows the guidelines of Controlled Integrated Production, while the cellar relies on controlled fermentation using selected yeasts. The stated goal is to produce elegant, fresh, and fruity wines as well as dense, age-worthy single-vineyard wines under the Wagram DAC designation.
