About the estate
The family-run August Eser estate in Oestrich-Winkel in the Rheingau cultivates an exceptional portfolio of vineyards including VDP.ERSTE LAGEN and VDP.GROSSE LAGEN sites spread across eight municipalities. Operating in the tenth generation and rooted in natural viticulture since 1688, the winery matures its wines with great care in the historical barrel vaults of the manor house dating back to around 1650. The estate is led by Désirée Eser-Freifrau zu Knyphausen and Dodo Freiherr zu Knyphausen, who both studied at University Geisenheim. These distinctive wines are distributed through selected specialist retailers, upscale gastronomy, and directly at the winery.
