About the estate
The Vinařství Michal Janás winery was founded in 2004 by Michal Janás in Blatnička, continuing a long-standing family winemaking tradition. The vines are cultivated on the high-altitude, heavy clay soils of the Morava region in the Novosady vineyard site. Vineyard management avoids insecticides in favor of green manure and herbs to aerate the soil. In the cellar, gentle stainless steel technology is used for white wines, while red varieties are processed into rosé or traditional red wines. A notable feature of the estate is a former water reservoir from 1930 that was converted into an underground family wine archive.
The eno directory lists 3 wines, mostly from Gewürztraminer and Pálava.
