About the estate
The Velis Vineyards estate was founded in 2009 and combines Bulgarian wine heritage with modern German craftsmanship. This cross-border journey began with the acquisition of vineyards in the Upper Thracian Plain of Bulgaria, where French grape varieties are cultivated. Following hand harvesting, the grapes are transported to the modern winery in Flörsheim-Dalsheim, Rheinhessen, for vinification. In 2019, the estate also acquired vineyards in Germany, adding grape varieties such as Riesling, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir to its portfolio. The wines mature in French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks, developing significant aging potential.
