About the estate

The Turra winery is situated at the foot of Monte Orfano in the municipality of Cologne in the southwest of Franciacorta, and is run by Roberto Turra together with his family. The estate cultivates twelve hectares of vineyards planted with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with Pinot Gris also planned for the future. The soils of this unique hill, shaped by tectonic origins, consist of a clay-limestone conglomerate rich in salts and minerals. From the very beginning, the winery has focused on organic farming and a respectful approach to nature to highlight the characteristics of the terroir and the grapes. Producing Franciacorta according to the traditional method requires significant aging time on the lees.
