About the estate

The Studeny estate in Obermarkersdorf manages 16 hectares of vineyards in the Weinviertel region and is run by Herbert Studeny in the third generation. The origin of the winery dates back to 1960, when the mixed agricultural business was fully converted to viticulture. The vineyards are located at the foothills of the Manhartsberg, characterized by cool katabatic winds and primary rock soils. The main grape varieties include Grüner Veltliner, Sauvignon Blanc, and Riesling, cultivated sustainably without the use of insecticides or herbicides. In addition to Austria, the wines are distributed through selected wine shops in Germany, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic.

The eno directory lists 23 wines, mostly from Grüner Veltliner and Sauvignon Blanc. The estate sells to retail. Export markets include Germany, Netherlands and Czechia.
