About the estate
The Goldhand Sektkellerei in Mainz looks back on a history that began in 1857 with the construction of the winery, before Ernst Könitz converted the wine cellar into a sparkling wine producer in 1957. Today, Walter Könitz manages the family estate together with his son Robert and operations manager Antonio Ferraiuolo. In the historic vaulted cellars, individual sparkling wines and semi-sparkling wines are produced in over 50 stainless steel tanks, both from own production and through contract sparkling wine production. As the only sparkling wine producer in the city, the company is a leading service provider for winegrowers from various wine-growing regions.
