About the estate
The Schachhuber estate, located in Haugsdorf in the Weinviertel region, has been family-owned since 1796. The vineyards are planted equally with white and red grape varieties, with certain sites like the Schatzberg reaching a considerable vine age. Top sites include five terraced vineyards on the south-facing slopes of the Schatzberg, cultivated with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The winery works without herbicides and relies on yield control and selective manual harvesting. In the cellar, white wines are predominantly vinified in stainless steel tanks, whereas red wines mature in traditional wooden casks and barriques.
