About the estate
The Quinta do Vesúvio estate is located in the Douro Valley and its recorded history dates back to 1565. The planting of the 150-hectare vineyards and the construction of the winery began in 1823 under António Bernardo Ferreira. After being passed down through generations, the centuries-old property came into the hands of the Symington family in 1989. To this day, all Vintage Ports are produced in the original winery using traditional foot treading. Additionally, the estate started producing Douro DOC wines in 2007.
